Privacy Agreement
This Privacy Agreement ("Policy") describes how GlotSpot ("GlotSpot," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). It should be read together with our Terms of Service. (We may refer to this document as our Privacy Policy in notices where that label is conventional.)
1. Who may use the Service
The Service is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, contact us using the information in Section 9.
2. Information we collect
We may collect and process categories of information such as:
- Account and authentication data, including your email address and tokens or identifiers needed to sign you in (for example, magic-link flows and session management).
- Profile and activity data you choose to provide or generate through the Service (for example, display name, languages, messages, posts, media, and preferences).
- Technical and usage data, such as device or browser type, log data, diagnostics, and security signals, as needed to operate and protect the Service.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies as needed to operate the Service, including to maintain session and authentication state (for example, storing session or refresh tokens in cookies where our architecture requires it), remember preferences, and protect against abuse.
U.S. state privacy laws. Several U.S. states (including, depending on how the Service is offered, California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah) require businesses to provide notice about cookies and similar technologies, and may grant residents rights to access, delete, correct, or opt out of certain processing. Where those laws apply to our processing, we provide this Policy to satisfy baseline notice obligations; specific rights requests may be handled as described in Section 9. We do not "sell" personal information in the conventional sense of selling lists for cash; we use data to run the Service as described here.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
- Authenticate users and prevent fraud or abuse;
- Communicate with you about the Service (for example, magic-link emails);
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service and other policies.
5. Sharing
We may share information with service providers who assist us in hosting, analytics, communications, or security, subject to appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GlotSpot, our users, or others.
6. Account access and verification
Because authentication may rely on your email address, we may be unable to verify that you are the account owner if you cannot complete our normal sign-in or account flows (for example, if you lose access to your email). That limitation affects our ability to honor certain requests that require identity verification.
7. Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary by data category and legal requirements.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Contact
For privacy-related questions or requests (including, where applicable, rights requests under U.S. state law), use the contact or support options we publish on the Service or our official website. We may need to verify your request consistent with applicable law.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Agreement from time to time. We will post the updated document and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.
